Amenities

The decision to move isn’t easy, no matter what age you are.

Before you make the decision to move to Craigwiel Gardens, we want you to know who we are and why Craigwiel may be the best choice for your new home.

Why Craigwiel?

Our vibrant Campus of Care is a place of connection and purpose. It is more than a place to live; it is a hub for physical, social and mental well-being for residents and the wider community.

We are committed to helping older adults live with dignity in a not-for-profit, faith-based, safe and kind environment where all are welcome.

Kindness Lives Here

At the heart of our organization is a deep-seated belief in the power of kindness. It shapes everything we do from the way we work together to how we serve our community. We believe in being kind to ourselves, to each other and to the community. As we make decisions, we start with one simple question: “What would kindness do here?”

Campus Life

Our campus is designed to offer amenities, programs and services that care for the whole person.

Nursing Team and Physician

Our nursing staff is an integral part of our multidisciplinary Health Care Team and deliver quality, personalized care to each resident. Nursing staff includes RNs, RPNs and Personal Support Workers led by our Director of Care. Residents receive additional care through our Attending/Advisory physician(s).

Restorative Care

Our emphasis on Restorative Care with the opportunity to improve and/or maintain their functional abilities. Our Restorative Care Coordinator works alongside our on-site Physiotherapist and Physiotherapist Assistant to ensure a seamless continuum of care between rehabilitation and maintenance.

Social Work

For those residents and families that require the extra assistance of a social worker, we have one available by referral. Please speak to the Registered Staff to start this process.

Physiotherapy

Funded by the Ministry of Long-Term Care, our residents have access to our excellent Physiotherapy Program including an experienced Physiotherapist to assess the needs of the residents and develop programs to maximize their mobility and rehabilitate. These programs are then carried out by a Physiotherapy Assistant and reassessed regularly to ensure they continue to meet their changing needs. Please speak to the Registered Staff for more information.

Recreation

Our home offers varied activities during the day, evenings and weekends tailored to the interests of our residents. Events are hosted in our expansive auditorium including musical entertainment, holiday socials, special meals and church services.

Our experienced Activity Coordinators enhance the quality of life for our residents through meaningful and holistic programming. We believe in continuing education to maintain our high standards and to remain current in our field.

Transportation

The Craigwiel Gardens’ van provides ample opportunity to participate in community events, to enjoy local restaurants and to view the countryside.

Spirituality

Our Chaplain ensures that the full range of religious traditions of the residents are served.

Singing and stories from the past and the present are shared with the residents in both one-on-one visits, religious services and informal evening devotions. Weekly church services are conducted by volunteer lay-workers and professional clergy, who come and share their hope with the residents. On an annual basis, our chaplain leads a gathering to celebrate the passages of life.
